AL for Health

Africa shoulders 25% of the global disease burden, yet it is only served by 2% of the world’s healthcare workforce (UNDPI, 2017). It is estimated that fewer than 50% of Africans have access to modern health facilities (WHO, 2014). The situation is further aggravated by the fact that Africa’s healthcare sector is plagued by many inefficiencies, including poorly trained workers, lack of resources, and lack of a structured system to promote and accelerate improvements in the sector. AL for Health Network seeks to address this challenge by uniting key stakeholders to build a resilient healthcare ecosystem championing and advocating for the health and well-being of Africa’s population.
