The globe is now united around the importance of food production and agriculture, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic. Now more than ever, it has become pertinent for us in the sector, to collaborate our efforts by working in unified and dynamic units to ensure the impact required to advance African agriculture for the survival of our continent. The AL for Agribusiness Network is poised to contribute to this collective action, by connecting its young talent in the sector across disciplines, countries and different ages. With access to a mix of aspiring, connected and active leaders in the sector, already our network is demonstrating positive exchange amongst its members through the Agribusiness Internship Program and Think Tank Webinar and ALforAg Hangout Sessions. This was continued in the Redefine Expectation Webinar: Ground breaking Entrepreneurs Inspiring Youth in Agribusiness. With the increasing network activities, it has been an absolute pleasure having Rumby Hove, an ALA alum from Zimbabwe and a network member, join the network team as an intern. Rumby’s enthusiastic energy in connecting members to the network and leading some strategic initiatives is proving to be a great asset to the network. We welcome a new network partner, Fresh Produce Exporters’ Forum (FPEF) which connects with fresh produce exporters, marketing agents, pack-houses, logistics and other service providers based in South Africa. This partnership aims to provide exposure to the network in the form of internships, jobs, and we look forward to the flagship masterclass that will highlight the opportunities in this part of the agriculture value chain.
