Our Programs and Events
We convene a vibrant, pan-African community of artists, creatives, cultural leaders, and industry partners to collaborate, create, and showcase work that matters.
Through curated programs and dynamic events, AL for the Arts connects emerging and established talent across disciplines — from visual arts and music to film, performance, and digital media. Our platform is designed to spark collaboration, unlock opportunity, and position African creatives on the global stage.
Whether it’s exhibitions, showcases, workshops, or cross-sector collaborations, every experience is built to amplify African voices, tell powerful stories, and drive cultural impact.
Google Arts and Culture Digital Exhibition Program
In partnership with Google Arts & Culture, we bring African creativity to a global audience through immersive digital exhibitions. This program spotlights the work of talented artists from across the continent, using technology to preserve, elevate, and share African stories at scale. From climate change to identity and heritage, each exhibition explores themes that are shaping Africa today and tomorrow. Explore the Climate Change in Africa Art exhibition and experience how African artists are using their work to challenge perspectives, inspire dialogue, and influence the future.
Coaching and Career Guidance
We support artists not just as creatives — but as professionals building sustainable, impactful careers.
Through personalized coaching, mentorship, and practical learning experiences, we equip artists with the tools to navigate the creative economy with confidence. From portfolio development and pricing to partnerships, branding, and global market access, our guidance is rooted in real-world success.
Artists in our network gain access to:
– Industry mentors and creative leaders
– Career development workshops and masterclasses
– Opportunities for commissions, residencies, and collaborations
Because talent alone is not enough — we help artists build careers, not just create work.
Virtual and In-Person Events
We create spaces, both online and in person, where African creatives connect, learn, and collaborate in meaningful ways. Our events are designed to go beyond inspiration. They are intentional platforms where artists engage with industry leaders, exchange ideas, and build relationships that translate into real opportunities. From intimate virtual hangouts to high-energy in-person gatherings, each experience is curated to strengthen community and unlock growth.
Our calendar includes a diverse mix of experiences tailored to different stages of the creative journey:
– Interactive webinars and masterclasses with industry experts,
– Peer-to-peer hangouts and community conversations,
– Skills-based workshops and portfolio sessions, and
– Live events, showcases, and networking experiences.
Whether virtual or in person, every event is designed to build knowledge, expand networks, and spark collaboration.
Arts Sector Employer Engagement
We actively connect artists to the people, platforms, and institutions shaping Africa’s creative economy.
Through targeted employer engagement, AL for the Arts builds meaningful partnerships with galleries, production houses, creative agencies, cultural institutions, and global platforms. These relationships unlock real opportunities for artists, from commissions and collaborations to internships, residencies, and full-time roles.
Our approach goes beyond introductions. We work closely with employers to understand their talent needs and co-create pathways that align with the evolving demands of the arts sector.
Creative Arts Department on Campus Partnership
We work closely with the Creative Arts Department at African Leadership Academy (ALA) to nurture the next generation of African creatives from the very start of their journey.
As part of ALA’s two-year diploma program, students engage deeply in artistic exploration across disciplines — developing both their creative voice and critical thinking. Through our partnership, AL for the Arts extends this foundation beyond the classroom, connecting students to real-world opportunities, industry exposure, and a broader pan-African creative network.
Together, we bridge the gap between learning and livelihood, ensuring that young artists are not only creatively confident but also prepared to navigate professional pathways in the arts.
