Patrick Chomurove: Turning Energy Challenges into Sustainable Solutions through Practical Innovation

For Patrick Chomurove, a Mastercard Foundation Scholar Alumni from Ashesi University and a current master’s student at Michigan Technological University, leadership in energy innovation is shaped by direct engagement with real infrastructure challenges. Through the Energy and Power Working Group, he applied his academic background to practical issues affecting energy systems in emerging economies. His work with the Chinhoyi Battery Recycling and Energy Storage Initiative (CBRESI) focuses on battery waste management, improving energy access, and developing sustainable business models that align technical solutions with community needs.
