Every September, the world pauses to reflect on the beauty, resilience, and contributions of the Deaf community. This year’s Deaf Awareness Month is anchored in the powerful global theme: No Human Rights Without Sign Language Rights.<\/strong> Este tema \u00c3\u00a9 muito importante porque nos recorda que o acesso \u00c3\u00a0 l\u00c3\u00adngua \u00c3\u00a9 o acesso \u00c3\u00a0 liberdade, \u00c3\u00a0 dignidade e \u00c3\u00a0 igualdade. To see sign language as just a language is to miss its true significance. It is both language and culture, a living expression of identity and belonging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sign language interpreters play an invaluable role as bridges between the deaf and hearing communities. Their work requires not just linguistic skill, but deep cultural sensitivity and commitment. At ALA, we are deeply appreciative of interpreters who dedicate their lives to ensuring that Deaf voices are heard in classrooms, boardrooms, and global stages. We honour them as partners in building an inclusive world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Estes passos recordam-nos que a mudan\u00c3\u00a7a \u00c3\u00a9 poss\u00c3\u00advel quando as na\u00c3\u00a7\u00c3\u00b5es agem intencionalmente para defender a equidade e a dignidade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
