David Sonon, a young agronomist, is co-founder and the current leader of Save Tomato, a start-up that produces grafted seedlings of tomato in Benin. He won the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Entrepreneurship Fund to set it up. He has been attracted to agriculture since he realized that he wants to contribute to improving our communities’ livelihoods. Currently a research team member at the Laboratory GBioS of the University of Abomey Calavi, he is working to become an outstanding researcher in Plant breeding. In that way, he is mainly interested in vegetables for their proven role usable in dealing with malnutrition and poverty problems of our regions.
As intern for AL for Agribusiness network, he is excited to get three things: to extend his knowledge of the agribusiness environment in Benin, to scale up his actions in terms of career guidance and contributing to the professional insertion of his peers and to join a vibrant network of young african leaders working to impact and transform positively our continent.
