Internship at Doctors without Borders (MSF)

This is a great opportunity! All you have to be is curious, ready to listen hard, learn as much as you can and CONTRIBUTE!

Describe Your Internship

I worked with Doctors Without Borders this summer working mostly with COVID-19 cases in the first four months in Cameroon. Moreover, I also worked on KmerPad – which is a company that is currently producing PPE products.

Impact of Internship on the Student

This summer was quite unique because of its remote nature as well as working on a reverse timezone. This allowed me to be very independent in my own work.

Impact of Intern on Organization

Since I have interned with MSF before, I took the task of managing interns for the first couple of weeks in terms of assigning work and establishing deadlines. This took pressure off our supervisor.

Skills and Experience Gained

  • writing skills
  • management skills
  • research skills

Would you recommend this opportunity to another intern/Why?

YES – you get to learn a lot if you work with MSF. This is because the minute you arrive, you are given full independence to work on anything you want, and expected to deliver and manage your time well.

Advice to Future Interns
