A New Tradition at Education Matters: Strengthening Employer Engagement through ACN Partnership.

Organizations are not the same and neither are the people within them. It is essential to invest time and resources into understanding both the institution and direct points of contact. Personal connections matter.

Education Matters’ partnership with Africa Careers Network (ACN) has prompted the launch of a new tradition within our Zimbabwe Career Connect program: weekly employer site visits. This initiative reflects our shared vision with ACN to accelerate internationally educated Zimbabweans into careers of impact in Zimbabwe and across Africa.

This approach resonates strongly in Zimbabwe’s community-oriented culture, where in-person conversations and consistent, mutually beneficial engagement often lead to deeper collaboration and trust.

We are proud to share that we have now engaged with over 35 employer partners, and we are on track to reach 50 by the end of Q4. These partnerships have been cultivated through site visits, career fairs, referrals from existing employer partners and strengthening relationships with existing internship hosts, all with the goal of opening doors to graduate trainee roles and full-time job placements.
